What stimulates you about chess?

For me, it's the challenges and the liberty of making my own choices.
After learning the mobility of the pieces, the beauty became the activity of the pieces, that covered so many points of views.
I like it because I can always get better by learning something new.
I like it because its FREEEEEEEEEE 😁😁😁

I mean, really, free. There's no advertisments, they're not begging for subscriptions and money (*cough* *cough* chess.com)
And the sites very organized. I really like that.
And the rating restricted tournaments, i really love those.
And last of all, i love THIS lichess community. Everyone here (well, almost everyone) is awesome. Thank you all 😁
1. I enjoy seeing my considerations pay dividends. It's always nice when a plan comes together.

2. I enjoy the opportunity to argue objectively.
There is a reason I call it "The Sacred 64." There is a reason I call chess, "A Godly Realm".

3. There has always been something cathartic about lining up the pieces fresh, with a chance to try again and improve.

4. Something about seeing those pieces lined up triggers a sort of 30 year-old, nostalgic, interest, and energy.
It's almost 'spiritual' at this point.

"On the chessboard, lies and hypocrisy do not survive long. The creative combination lays bare the presumption of a lie; the merciless fact, culminating in the checkmate, contradicts the hypocrite. " Lasker
