Ways to beat strong players

<Comment deleted by user>
one big thing is how you look at it. There are two ways of viewing it. The first way which is bad but very common : I am playing a strong player so I will definitely lose. This mindset means when the strong player does make a mistake you will miss it because you don't think they could possibly make a mistake, so you won't capitalise on any chances that come your way and you will lose.
The second more constructive way: He's much higher rated than me so in a sense I have nothing to lose. I am expected to lose anyway. If I win or draw it's a good result for me. Sure I can't see how to win, so instead of determining to win, I will determine to fight as hard as possible, to make it as difficult for my opponent as possible. Also even strong players do sometimes make mistakes so I will still watch out for them, and try to capitalise if I can. Don't make it easy for my opponent so be extra careful not to blunder pieces, or make unsound sacrifices. At each point try to hold the position. (also the advice about the stronger player wanting to avoid draws, you can use that to your advantage.). See it that there's little to lose and plenty to gain from playing stronger players. (on the plus side if you lose it wont bang your rating too bad, and you get a lesson in the process.) --- if they do beat you pay particular attention to what they're doing that you aren't.
also stick to positions you are familiar with, even if they're not objectively best, you stand much more chance of playing correctly.
@RubbleChess you didn't get the topic. It's not about yourself, but about what things to try in game. @DJdatadriven was also close to off topic with his post... but you rubblechess did not get what I mean at all.

Sorry that my original post was once again so unclear and hard to understand. It's for sure my fault that it's hard to get what I mean.
@RubbleChess For the simple reason that I don't like people just repeating morals and words of someone else and make it look like their very own opinion. Don't mind it - it is not meant to offend you. I just don't like it.

I disliked my comment myself first, hah! You didn't expect that random person who is about to dislike my post, huh? :D
