I've been considering writing a program to criticize my moves as I play them - not to give me moves or play for me, but after I play a move to tell me "That was a blunder" or something along those lines to help with my pattern recognition via instant reinforcement
I know the computer analysis is accessible after the game, but I think it would make more of an impact to get instant criticism.
Would it be allowed or would it be considered cheating? If it'd be considered cheating I just won't do it, but I think it'd be a big help in improving my ability so I figure it's worth asking.
