The Ponziani opening always leads to crazy tactical games. I learned it as a beginner but I dropped it since it isnt considered a top-tier opening. But who cares, this is a game I play for fun and I have fun with it. This was a nice game! Lots of tactics and some missed opportunities too.

Lmao everyone who knows me knows my endless love for the ponziani. It's nice to see a fellow enthusiast. Even at this level, it's a very valuable weapon because no one has prep lmao. Even with the time afforded in rapid, my 2100+ opponents often don't play the correct lines.
Translation: "I like winning games in which my opponent doesn't know what they're doing."

@boilingFrog good point, it has a higher win rate for white than most openings but also a much higher win rate for black. Less draws.
