Chess Drama (your opinion?)

I'm just saying, Penguin dissects Finegold's comments as if they were serious comments, they are not. They are jokes, bad ones. I like Nakamura, I sometimes like Benjamin. Benjamin does not like Nakamura, probably because he has the illusion without Nakamura he would earn more streaming bucks. Perhaps he blocks people because they take his jokes too literally. Or maybe just because he disagrees with them but I do not know why so this is mere speculation.

Finegold is an elitist hypocrite who thinks teaching at St Louis Chess is right but not on stream. Stop defending his antics.

dont be overshadowed too much.. think about it on your perspective and not on Finegold's sayings.. you like jokes that are bad ones that can hurt because it is elitist?

Remember chess players, that right from the start chess is a unique game in which elitism is normal and frequent. Why? because chess is the only one you can get credit from solo. If you win then its your only win because of your skill and time. If you lose, then its your lose and you cant blame on someone else.

If you take Bens opinons seriously you have already lost the discussion.. this is just who Ben is, he is very opinionated and he will say stuff that are on his mind, he just doesnt care about the consequences, and seriously, is he that wrong about Nakamura, Im not blaming him for teaming up with some successful streamers to get more money, I mean, who wouldnt do it in his place, I know I would, but he is obviously d### for views, a lot of people think that, and if 1 of those people is Ben then you can be assured that he will say something about it..

GM Finegold and super GM Hikaru Nakamura are - of course - both people from whom 99% of all chessplayers can learn a lot. Elitism is just a reaction to the new internet era in which GMs have to compete against lesser gods with less experience to make a living. I see the whole drama as simple background politics, a battle for viewers and subscibers. Business is business.

Let the talking be done by the talkers. That's just my take on it. In the meantime many of us watch and appreciate people like agadmator and others who contribute to the world of chess.

I dont want to take GM FineGold teachings... I'd rather be a noob player than a salty/elitism GM player. But you are right, business is business so GM Hikaru streams for money right and he is currently famous because he brought chess wider from the internet. Then why the f*** GM FineGold being salty? He should be happy that chess is being spread.

In the reddit, GM FineGold is getting his brain big enough to boast why? He got his GM title. lol
I view this as a pest that will hinder the movement of chess in the platform of internet.

If GM FineGold only wants money... Then he is much more of a garbage than an elitism.
He is more likely to be a gold digger for the children in his club.

@Bonifides You start sounding just as salty as FineGold. I dislike the fact that this thread is mostly shi*tting on FineGold. He does not only care about money, he cares about the quality of chess as well. He probably got more people into the game than you so in a way he's done more for chess while being elitist then some have while being non-elitists
