Voice command

I was watching this video of Fabiano Caruana playing against a Tesla car.

This reminded me of the chess scene in 2001, a space Odyssey.

It's 2019 and we still don't have a voice command system to play chess against a computer comfortably. How comes?

It's funny how computers can play chess incomparably better than humans nowadays but still can't understand our spoken language.
It sure can be used, but it would not feel comfortable. You don't just want something that works, you want something that feels smooth and natural, not clumsy.
But in this case mistakes are unavoidable. I myself often confuse "b" "d" and "e" when listening to somebody's stream, why then computer should be better in recognition?
The computer should either be able to ask the human to clarify, or the human should be able to correct the computer if it misunderstood.

This would not be possible between two humans as they would argue, but since there is no competitive aspect between a human and a computer, there would be no such problem : the computer would not argue.
