Things that are not ok?

I get hit on in chat from time to time, and get the odd misogynistic slur thrown my way for no reason. This is, from what I can tell, extremely standard stuff if your profile even hints at being feminine (like, say, using the name "Cady"). Beyond the obviously awful shit, there's another layer of weirdos who, for whatever reason, insist on pretending that this kind of thing just doesn't happen and that women are just overreacting or lying. Those guys are also very much part of the problem. Apropos of nothing, I wonder if @avague has anything to actually say beyond a thumbs down.

To say that Chess has a misogyny problem is probably unfair; basically everywhere in the world has a major misogyny problem. But Chess is a subset of everywhere, so... yeah, Chess has a misogyny problem.

I didn't saw video or discover the topic, just long ago I followed that player on youtube, but then due ignorance and other stuff, I started disliking her,and unfollowed, nothing more

This is something natural, parents are there to protect you and take care of you, you must have trust in them, they have lived more then you and have more experience in life then you do.

I hear you. It is not the only form of discrimination in chess.
Personally I don't get hit on, but I was thinking about making a list of all things that are not ok, a bit inspired by the video with the girls.
