When you get that message, there should be more info then that. Namely, this should show up:

Give me a break. I am in my 60's and signed up for a one minute game a couple of days ago (either mistake or lichess's reconnection) the game timed out and I got a message about not losing deliberately Do you think I should have lowered myself and explained
