My next step?

Hi everyone,
So I broke 2000+ blitz not long ago, which I think it's not a small feat.
Now I am aiming higher for 2200+. Which I need to get to 2100+ first before reaching this step.
I see a lot of things on how to improve in blitz, most of them say just play more blitz games and do more puzzles. Is it true? Or do I need some extra steps to actually get to 2100+ blitz or even 2200+ blitz?
(Plus: I have been getting a lot of comments saying I shouldn't play blitz and should stick to longer-time controls. Thanks for the reminders but I know I need to play longer time controls just not now on Lichess. As a matter of fact, I do play long-time control tournament every Friday. 15+10 for 5 rounds. Not playing today cause I'm a bit tired)

Yeah I looked at both of those before. The first one is just saying you need to practice more puzzles and play more games.
The second one is just time management which I have no big problem with.
I just want to know what is my next step other than doing both more puzzles and playing more blitz games. Or do I just do puzzles and blitz games over and over until I get to 2200 strength?
1.You need to learn/practice tactics and puzzles.Blitz chess is mainly just tactics. If you are able to spot them quickly then you will do better.

2.Time management is really important. In blitz you can't take too much time to calculate as you would in a rapid game.

3.So, because you can't take too much time. Play openings that lead to positions that you are familiar and comfortable with.

4.Puzzle storm really helps. You could do more of that so that you can effectively spot those tactics quickly in your own games.

5.Play what suits you best.If you are comfortable with getting into flag wars then you can play without increment.Otherwise just play 3+2 or 5+3.

6.And yes, you have to play more games. But definetly not too much.

And about getting 2200.You should work on your general chess understanding/skill as well.

Playing blitz really doesn't help your chess too much. As Fischer said " Blitz chess kills your ideas".

And as a wise man once told me, "Blitz breeds bad habits: playing too fast and too shallow. What works well in blitz does not work in rapid and even less in classical."

But indeed it can be played for fun. And you can play it to keep balance between longer and shorter time controls.

Good luck with your improvement.Hope you'll work hard and reach your milestone soon.
