Any classic chess clock more beautiful than this?.

The most beautiful chess clock I've seen.
I asked the price and shopkeeper told me 289.88 $.
I'm not going to buy it.
It's so elegant, captivating .....
I made the picture in a small jewelry store.
Now are digitals, I know :)

Why would you buy that for that ridiculous price when you can get something just as good or even better for cheaper? There is a point at which the value of a "vintage" item is not worth the price.
For $289.88 I hope Fischer or Kasparov made it themselves....

There was no price tag.

The store was very small and with few things. It´s very expensive. A woman who owns a jewelry store is free to put the price she wants.

I think it's made of bakelite.

At first the woman told me 260.93$ and then changed to 289.88$.

I never joke when I talk about money.

It's just ... that I've been very fascinated when I saw it in the shop window. But it's worse (for common sense) to say 10 or $ 12 than what she asked for. It's new. I don´t know what time it was made. It has a charm that I have seen in a few chess clocks.

And maybe I'm not very wrong when I think that using an old chess clock and not a digital may have some benefit for the mind.

I have never touched a chess clock.

It's a bit of an antique, probably made between 1950 and 1970. Ursus (read from the logo on the front) is of spanish origin and they used german clock movements. I found some auctions for both a wooden chess set and that clock online. In 2017 the set and clock together sold at auction for about $150.00 US. Delivery to U.S. was about $50.00.

If I was interested in it, I'd offer them half of the total price at auction plus delivery. So that would be $100.00. If they countered for less than $125, I might buy it.
