Crazyhouse World Championship 2021 - Double Elimination Knockout Stage

Hi everyone,

I'd like to start by saying a huge thank you to @okei who has completed the vast majority of the grunt work required to determine the valid list of entrants and rating information for seedings for 267 players. There have also been anonymous contributors that have assisted @okei with their programming talents on the side and these efforts are also very much appreciated.

Also a special mention for @LegionDestroyer who has setup the Double Elimination Knockout Stage bracket, which can be found here: challonge.com/CWC2021

So with the publication of the website above, also comes the announcement that the tournament is officially open to all valid entrants listed on the bracket!

If your match is not dependent upon the outcomes of the 11 matches to be played in the Single Elimination Knockout Round, then you may already begin to schedule and play your matches.

Matches should be scheduled by Sunday 21st March and played by Sunday 28th March, but it's great if we can get ahead of these dates, so get started if you and your opponent are ready to go!

When you have agreed a date and time with your opponent, it is important that you post the date, time and timezone here in this forum so that there is a public record of the agreed time for the match. This allows the organisers to fairly determine if a player was on time or late for agreed matches in the future.

A reminder that a match consists of 10 games of 3+2 crazyhouse chess. If a match goes to 5-5, then continue playing two games at a time until there is a decisive result (for example: 7-5, 8-6, or possibly even 6.5-5.5).

If you have any questions about anything, please reach out to one of our CWC organisers listed here:
@JannLee @FischyVishy @littleplotkin @okei @LegionDestroyer @googa @grogers

The 5th Crazyhouse World Championship has just begun - let's enjoy it!
Jann
I would like to thank @moha369 @gsvc and @blitzbullet for helping with the programming to get the raw data from which seeding ratings were calculated.

The seeding rating of a player was (peak + average rating)/2 in 2020/21. The average was taken on every day a player played zh in 2020/21.
