It's Not Chess, It's You...

Very interesting read! The advertisements throughout the article felt excessive though.
As silly as the Geoff humor might be, I love it
This is a great topic. Psychology is really a great part of chess, so it is sincerely appreciated to read more about it. Thank you, more please!

First of all, glad you enjoyed the read! And I get that you find the advertisements excessive.

I hope you can understand that as a chess coach, I have to advertise my services to other Adult Improvers somehow or I wouldn't be able to provide for my family.

That being said, I write this blog because I love doing it and because it provides a lot of meaning to me to help and entertain other chess players (I started this blog long before I was a chess coach). That's why they're freely available for everyone, as my podcast will be too.

I'm very passionate about writing these articles, I spend hours writing each post and I'd much rather publish them without the adverts as well because this is my art (whether you agree with that or not!). Not to advertise my Patreon ;) but all of the originally written, ad-free articles are available there for my Patrons.
I agree you do have a writing ability to put a smile on my face. If i start with good mood already, that might make me derail from the rest of the blog too soon, but I don't mind. It would have made my day.

The dose of fiction or not does not matter. There seems to be enough real life inspiration to make it real to read.

I also have to skip over the advertisement. But it is also nice to see the sharp turns to get there.... But I really like the introductions the most, for the writing aspect.. chunks of life, or life slices (not that you had to actually slice anything, that was figure of digital speech).
