Question on Levitsky Attack

I was analyzing the game Zhang Di vs. Wei Yi (TCh-CHN Div A Regular) for a group of students. It's an instructive game to study piece-activity and development. But the first thing that caught my attention was White's opening (Levitsky Attack, 1.d4 d5 2.Bg5). Black often doesn't move the knight to f6 at that moment in order to avoid doubled pawns after the exchange on that square. In fact, Wei Yi continued 2...h6. The question that arises here is whether 2...Nf6 3.Bxf6 exf6 (gxf6) is unfavorable for Black. Players like Anand and Kasparov, with the black pieces, have not had many difficulties in this line. What do you think?
Note: you can check the game here below.
Excellent GM Wei Yi conception! About the question, I think it's an early game moment to say if Black is at a disadvantage after the exchange on f6. Actually I'd like to play this line with the black pieces.
More than ten years ago I liked to play the French Defense, Rubinstein Variation with the black pieces; exactly I played this line 1. e4 e6 2. d4 d5 3. Nc3 dxe4 4. Nxe4 Nf6 5. Nxf6+ gxf6. Those doubled pawns wasn't a problem for me.
I dare to argue that after 3.Bxf6 exf6 (gxf6) Black has better chances! It's no coincidence that Anand and Kasparov, the players you mentioned, have preferred this line.
