I set the language to English, but it doesn`t hold. Every time I log in I have to change back to english again.
Check the url; it must be:
en.lichess.org.
Yes it does, and when I log off and come back again it`s
pt.lichess.org again.
If I'm not mistaken, you'll have to adjust these settings so lichess knows which language to use by default:
