Queen vs Bishop (or Knight) ending rule makes no sense

#9, that’s exactly the case when there’s a single blocked pawn left against a whole army...

WHAT ABOUT THAT?

Can someone please show a possible checkmate (helpmate) position for the bishop side when other side got queen & king. I tried . but could not think about the self mated position .

There is no way for the bishop to give mate, which is why the game is a draw.


Everything seems to be working fine.

#9 Who knows? Maybe, from POV of AlphaZero++, Carlsen and Caruana whole games were series' of highly counterintuitive moves.

yes, my mistake, I thought you lose on time but I did a test game and it is a draw.

Play with an increment = problem solved.

@msck The problem is that "fairness" doesn't mean the same thing to every player. The most prominent example of that occurred a decade ago, and the only adequate solution is to play using an increment:
