Hi everyone, great to see the interest in this event has expanded since last year!
My two cents, which is fairly simple and may not be as well considered as other responses here.
This is an event celebrated and played between humans, so it shouldn't really involve engines. In my view, a 10-game match with blitz time controls is one match where two humans are in a contest on their own. It's not really 10 matches. Outside of this, anything goes in terms of how you like to learn the game or prepare for a match.
Sure, there's sometimes the need for a break for the likes of bathroom, emergencies and disconnections. If one player is taking such a break, you can't really enforce what the other player is doing in that time. My message here is more about the spirit of how we should be competing. This event presents many great opportunities to see human talent vs human talent and the thought of interference from engines shouldn't be top of mind.
Cheers,
Jann
