If I reach 2000 will people respect me more?

Lately, players in forums and sometimes in chat rag on my rating.

I feel this is a huge distraction for me and my journey to becoming a titled tilted player.
Don`t pay attention to the haters. Be the best titled tilted player that you can be!
Yes, people in the chat and forums will sometimes respect you more. But I rarely see people openly disrespecting others because of a rating of 17xx. And you shoulnd't care so much about what others think, improve for yourself not to impress others.
I'll actually respect you less! Because you did it just to be a kiss-up.

Please forgive me. I am not a prodigy yet. I can't just play like a master. I have to earn my stripes.

Yes, but not because of the number, but because of the humbleness one develops on the journey there.
gotta love those people who think bragging about chess ratings on lichess is worth doing... or on Chess.com for that matter. or at all. play the game because it's fun and you enjoy it and don't worry about the trash talkers who love to run their mouths. most of those players have probably had their butt handed to them by someone better and they're just taking it out on other players because they've got nothing else to do with their tilt.

Just focus on making good moves on the chess board and forget about the everything else. If chess matters to you, go for it full force and dont let anyone discourage you or get in your way. Your hard work will eventually produce results if you are dedicated.
