Threefold repetition

I attempted to draw this game in an even position by repeating the same moves at move. ..23. My understanding was that this would automatically result in a draw, but nothing happened after repeating the same sequence over 5 times...the game just continued.

Bug or by design?

The rule is not that there's an automatic draw but that you can claim a draw and it will be automatically accepted. If you don't claim it, the game goes on.

I'm not sure I understand. Earlier this evening I had another threefold repetition game that did pop up the window saying it ended in a draw. I assumed this was the system doing it automatically, but are you suggesting my opponent must have claimed a draw from the menu?

Probably in the second case your opponent had the settings on „auto-claim.“
