I remember some time ago that the Coaches presentations had reviews on the left side. I don't see this anymore. Why is it so ? Why are they removed ?

We've received complaints from people who had a bad experience with a coach and were understandably not happy to discover their negative reviews deleted, and maybe they should have been deleted, how do we know if that person really worked with the coach at all? If we can't be sure of the legitimacy of reviews they shouldn't be on the site, and I'm not aware of any way to do that.

A two factor authentication system would minimize the chance for false negative reviews.
For example if both coach and students both have to verify each other before a review can be creat
(Without knowing what the review would say, just an mutual acceptance of the users couch and student)
However, this doesn't prevent false praise.
If a couch, for example, creates fake accounts just to praise themselves.
Alternatively, Lichess need some sort of proff, that all reviews comes from actual people. This is tricky, they could require personal information, like an account from another platform (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn etc.)
But how to determine if those accounts are reliable?
Another way is, if Lichess can be allowed to offer a chance to verify an account, using a social security number verification.
(Similar to in Europe, when you access your bank, or a public government page and you need to sign in using your personal identification numbers, like in the libraries)
However I can imagine, for security reasons, that there are strict rules as for which type of websites can be allowed to use this authentication method.

I wonder how common is this ? Is it not rather a very rare case ?

It would occur just as often as other dishonest practices aimed at furthering the perpetrator's career.
See this wikipedia page for historical examples of this sort of practice in comparable situations.

Coach - student authentication does not solve the issue of fake reviews, whether they are positive or negative.
A coach can pay a student to write a positive review, a student can troll a coach by writing a negative review. People also have different expectations and it may just happen that a coach did a good job, but the student thought they would become Magnus Carlsen in a day.
The only way to verify the reviews would be for Lichess to become a middleman and frankly there is no desire to do this.
And if you don't know if the reviews are real or fake then there is little point of having them in the first place, since they just give a false sense of security.

I imagine it would be very rare, considering most couches do not have the ability to create Lichess accounts on their own. Perhaps this could be an issue with some couches though. plugin-magazine.com/living/lift-bit-the-worlds-first-internet-of-things-sofa/

Since we don't have the reviews may I ask for advice how to determine if I coach is worth hiring ?
Speak with them.
