Why Chess.com rating different from lichess??

I personally pay Danny Rencsh to keep everyone else's scores deflated. Chromium membership.

You have to play in cheesecom to get their ratings.

I'm 1833 there and 2033 here. If that helps.

Im 1900 rapid here and 1500 rapid on chess.com

I am 1800 blitz here and about 1450 there.

i am 2005 rated here and 1725 in chess.com

I'm about the same on the two sites. And to further make the point about different pools, I'm in about the 97th percentile on chess.com and the 84th percentile on Lichess. So they are defiinitely different pools of players.

in my experience, playing on both, 2050 lichess and 1750 chess.com, 2100 lichess and 1800 chess.com, the ratings come close that way

I thinknit has to do with chess.com is easier to find if you want to start playing online. If I google chess, chess.com is the first result. What I mean is the one that never played online before is gonna find chess.com first and most likley start there. Wgile after you played some time you might find out about other websites.
