I know FIDE has online arena titles. Perhaps we could petition lichess to create similar titles from points gained via online tournaments that are closely monitored and verified? Charging a small fee to compete or get titles wouldn't be a problem. It's also a good way to support the site.
The FIDE Online Arena Titles are complete bullshit. They just attribute even further to a massive overflow in titles, thereby devalueing them. In my opinion we should get rid of everything other than IM and GM
Fm is ok but online titles is just pure greed and fide bs. And they should call all nms candidate masters.And road to master should honestly be road to candidate master. If im is international, what other than national is fm?
Its like the church when money business was a sin but when they got rich they changed. Onlie titles best symbolize the rising power of online platforms. Fide so pathetic(if i understand it correctly )
