I don't think chess.com hurts Lichess. I got into playing chess regularly by finding chess.com. I then found Lichess after playing on chess.com, reading about chess online, and finding Lichess. In my mind chess.com is the biggest funnel of new users into Lichess.

If you read #39 in that forum..you will find that Ultramuddish says that chess.com is the best because Lichess chatbanned him and chess.com hasn't yet.

exactly @DavidDoesChess i never made this forum to advertise but to just discuss the whole thing about chess itself and how these 2 have impacted online chess, especially with the big boom. there are many here closed for having lichess profiles on chess.com but i cant blame them with their competitions while here its just casual
