Additional time

Hi everybody,

I just win a correspondence game because for some reason my opponent did not reply within the 2 days allowed. It was in the middle of the game and both of us still had a chance to win the game. So I was surprised he stop playing and I suppose for some reason he could not play for some time and lost the game.
I'm writing this because some time ago I remember seeing a button something like "give additional time" to the opponent. I was looking after this button to provide additional time to my opponent and be able to continue the game. But I couldn't find it. Is this because it was a rated game, or did I just dreamed such a button that never existed?

I think give additional time button exists only for games in real time, in correspondence you actually have unlimited time as long as you move within x amount of time so there is no such button for it.

@chessinull on correspondence there isnt this button

I believe the option for additional time only exists for Classical and faster time controls. Correspondence doesn’t offer that option.

On the bright side, you can still analyze the opening of both sides.

I think it would be a good idea because nobody likes when the opponent runs out of time in a game full of action.

@Timehawk Yes, that's what I did. And I intend to continue the game against stockfish at level 7 (won't be easy!)
