Are We Tiktokificating Chess?

One must also wonder: what about correspondence chess? Eventually I'll get around to improving Lichess support for it...
sorry your blog was too long could you compress its meaning into a shorter format
this is happening, i have more otb chess rapid more than classical. 15+5
Armageddon chess... sorry tbh i think it is rubbish, like he says invalid moves. how is that chess bruh
tictokification of the article:
The chess boom on social media is leading to shorter time controls and content for more views. But is "tiktokification" diluting the core values of the game? Read on for more.

Bruh, this article is totally off. TikTok and YouTube Shorts aren't ruining chess - they're just adapting it for a new audience. Plus, who says shorter time controls mean less strategy? It just means faster-paced action. And don't even get me started on the whole "losing tradition" argument. Chess can evolve and still maintain its sportsmanship and fair play. IMO, we should support all types of chess events, whether it's classical or blitz. It's all about having fun and promoting the game.
@SayChessClassical: One way to vote with our eyeballs is to play classical time control, over the board chess.
Online chess websites allowed me to return to chess at the height of the pandemic after an absence of decades. But once I started playing over the board--facing actual people I could see and interact with--there was no comparison, I enjoy in-person chess so much more.
I'm grateful to the revolution in online chess since I played decades ago for giving me new tools and a safe place before vaccines. And now I can enjoy the social aspect of in-person chess.
well, even in blitz/bullet you have to play theory, same middlegame plans, I think classical chess is playing perfect chess, but faster game still require same principals. I wouldn't say blitz is bad, bullet is worse. so yea, but that was chess.com/chess24 do they are companies and want to make profits, :/
