Here are some cheating engines that have been mostly used:

MacOS Macbook App:

App "Chess", some people use that app to cheat by playing, for example, they are black and they play as white because they are actually playing what the computer plays as black and play all the moves on the app as the opponent plays.

Websites:

1. chess.com analysis
2. lichess analysis (OPENED IN A NEW WINDOW, Not a new tab)
3. chessvision.ai (from Chrome Web Store)
4. chesskid.com analysis

Cheating on a different device:

Ipad or phone Apps:

1. Online chess apps with analysis
2. lichess analysis (if cheating from another device on lichess)
3. chess.com analysis. etc...

All these methods must be stopped in some way... Any ideas on how to prevent these? or there is no way?

There have been many threads about the engine use in games, go to Hiarcs, and there you will see how many chess Bots are around.

How do you know what engines are the most popular?

Talk of cheating has been shown to increase the numbers of cheaters. Just play the game.

list was pointless and mostly wrong. MacBook chess app cannot be very popular as macbook is not popular compared to standard PC's. Anyway running a engine on side already has so many variations that is bearely coutable. Also various browser plugins exists. though those should be detectable.

I am pretty sure the current method os post analysis unging engines and ML-AI are the most important way to fight the problem
