A bad day for my king here - how did it get so exposed?

16. na4 was the key move, stopping a5 a4 from your opponent and keeping your knight more active. Of course ne4 is also a horrible move but you had 40 seconds and these kinds of things are going to happen. na4 is just way more natural and super important to shut down the a file and control more squares on the queenside.

Queenside castles was fine as long as you find na4. Kingside castles is also fine. Why do you lose the e4 pawn if you go kingside?
At some point white has to play c3 early on or this kind of thing can easily develop ...
