Things in chess you should never do and also, How to fix em.

Never resign in a won position. The fix, although though of as rude, is never resign.

BTW, this could also apply for bad things I've done.
play the London system.

the fix: actually think during the opening.
I often see low rated players playing agressive and complicated gambits and then of course they lose, because they didnt study it enough. So the thing not to do is playing agressive openings when you are low rated. Especially if you play against a high rated player.

The fix: Start with some solid openings, OR if you want to play the agressive openings, at least study them good enough. Dont play them, when you dont know what you are doing
A common mistake, especially in the lower level and on the internet is caring way too much about the opening.
How to fix: Don't care about the opening. Just finish your development and play Chess. Even if you get worse out of the opening: There still are 2 other game phases where your opponent can (and will) go wrong.
