The douchebag peak

Lichess is wonderful, and only rarely do I experience user problems. It was a HUGE improvement, that players can no longer just leave without resigning and make me wait several minutes before their time runs out (I play 5+3). There is one problem left - sometimes a player will play fast to the very end and then stop one move before they are checkmated. (-and maybe also disconnect just before their time runs out). It is easily spotted, if you look at the move times. What is the logic behind this behaviour? Could/should there be a penalty for this?

the logic is so that you will have to wait a long time until their time runs out. Lichess sometimes gives them a warning for letting their time run out on purpose.
Yes, apparently douchebags are, behaviourally speaking, not terribly logical.
If this becomes a pattern, system deals with these cases by issuing a temporary playban duration of which increases with each new infraction. These may be followed by account closure.
