I counted 17 I don't know if its true can you tell me?

No 15, 17, 18 - pawn can promote in the rock

I don't know. I too counted 17 ways to mate the black king in 1 but you are saying it is wrong.

2 from white bishop
2 from knight 1
1 from knight 2
1 from pawn 1
1 from pawn 2
Total 18
