What really gets me is noobs playing blitz. I mean... why? Learn to play chess first, before you try playing it that fast.

@Molurus That assumes people are playing for competitive reasons and/or are trying to get their rating up with higher preference than trying to have fun. I'm only playing for fun, and never study the game or anything - i.e. I play chess to unwind from actually studying/researching.

Oh boy, this got nonconstructive in a hurry. #1 provided an example, they just happened to be wrong.

I still don't understand why ppl's first reflex in such a case is to create a new thread and claim: "That must be a bug!!!1!1!!"

I mean how likely is it that developers made such a gross mistake, *and* that you're actually the first one to find it, lol?

Don't get me wrong: I'm not saying you shouldn't. I just have a really hard time understanding it.

I know this guy - who shall remain nameless - who has like a 1400 rating, and only plays 1.f3 vs Stockfish level 4. In my view, that's about equally weird.

Chess becomes so much more fun if you actually understand what you're doing. But that will require actually thinking about your games, instead of mindless wood pushing.

@BourneRoot I would advise you to read the FIDE rules. I hope you will understand why this is absolutely correct on the part of Lichess.

I'm terribly sorry, but a 1300 playing bullet and blitz doesn't spark any kind of respect in me. I think it's ridiculous.

Heck, even at my own level I think playing bullet is ridiculous.

and you play hyper bullet so your a liar a hypocrite and chess etiquette and life etiquette is something you need to learn chess isn't everything in life its just a game if you cant respect people over a game then you have major issues i cant help you with maybe God can if this is how you spend your time degrading others then you really must compensate with your ego and pride and rating for how you really think of yourself with insecurity grow up be an adult your acting like a middle school child if you were secure and not just on the surface you wouldnt act this way neither would anyone else it shows your immaturity and lack of regard for others anyone who thinks so highly of themselves and looks down on others are human beings who havent learned life yet
