Games into NFTs option

We probably don't agree on everything, but definitely agree on this one. Thanks.
Glad that @thibault can end any chance of lichess being ruined by dumb internet phenomena. Keep up your great work as the head of lichess!

Disclaimer!: Some context here guys - my original post was in jest actually and I should have some smileys at the end of it ! I thought the phrasing maybe was a bit of a giveaway but maybe not "Now that Lichess is getting with it with the world championships" - is not my usual phrasing for serious suggestions, and also the idea of lichess trying to milk things for money with "and maybe lichess could take a cut off the transaction fees" is also not in the site culture as a .org (as mentioned earlier in the thread) and I generally love and support everything the site does and have done for years.

#14 I recently did a blog on the Rosen scores and though some of that stuff was quite artistically generalized - see also my recent blog: lichess.org/@/Kingscrusher-YouTube/blog/what-is-your-rosen-score/rwFHo4w6 - The creator of the Rosen-score site and I have had some Email discussions, and I have given the site creator of the Rosen-score site a lot of feedback recently and he seemed very positive about the suggestions.

Anyway, just to be clear, i was in a funny-mood after reading the World championship blog, and my original post was quite in jest after reading the hilarious blog at:
.
lichess.org/blog/YmXOfxEAAB4AJh8A/announcing-the-lichess-world-championship

A lot of outrageous ideas have been coming up recently (on reddit chess) and this was another one of them - along with the World championship concept and other ridiculous nonsense anouncements. I am also against private organisations doing their own rival for FIDE world championship. This would clearly undermine FIDE and result in chaos we had years ago with the Kasparov-Short breakaway organisation.

In conclusion ...

Just to be clear I think NFTs would NOT BE a good idea at all. It seems the main idea of NFTs is to find bigger fools to sell something of no intrinsic value. One also does not have any exclusive rights over the images on any NFTS
- the only rights one has is to the some entry in a database. So it is a completely pointless craze which I recommend the site steer CLEAR AWAY FROM!

The one possible upside of such a concept that might be interesting is trying to determine artistic values for games, hence my mention of the Rosen-scores - especially i had in mind the more generic things in that score system. This one "Artistic measure" aspect maybe safer on a separate thread in future to discuss is the idea of brilliancy prize awards, and maybe Rosen-score style technology could be used to kind of auto-award games in tournaments which have generic special interest like quadruple pawn structures. There is no need to leverage blockchains, and try and sell stuff, etc - when in fact "interesting features" of games can be auto-identified and maybe put in a grand chess game art gallery at some point, or people just exporting their Rosen-scores reports to their blogs to showcase their funny games.

Cheers, K
KC,

Once you said "Now that Lichess is getting with it with the world championships..." I figured you were joking :D

I guess sarcasm doesn't always translate well...thanks for the humor!

Cheers!
