Has anyone else's Rapid rating dropped recently.
I'm suddenly losing to players with 1450 ranking even though I feel I'm playing reasonably well. Has there been a big influx of quality players or has the ranking system changed? My Classical rating is still holding in the 1700s but my Rapid rating has really slumped in recent weeks.
As far as I’m concerned, there hasn’t been a change in the rating system.
I wouldn’t worry too much about your rapid rating - rating fluctuations are completely normal. Being on a losing streak could be due to various reasons such as playing when you are tired, distracted or stressed.

In your last game, your opponent offered you a free bishop on move 9 &10 but you didn’t take it. You had a winning position in the middle game before you exchanged your bishop for a pawn...
Bullet chess is fun and all, but playing tons of bullet games could lead you to develop a habit of making superficial moves that may not work well in slower time controls. Try taking a break from bullet chess and see if your rapid rating improves.
honestly my rapid rating has increased recently, and for some reason playing bullet doesn't make me too much worse at rapid. don't take my word for it though because that's probably not true for a lot of people.
my rapid rating is 1756 which is thoroughly undeserved and I expect it to plummet to something more realistic soon.
I remember someone posting about how the lowest rating has been changed to 400 so maybe that’s why you rapid rating has dipped. I am probably wrong.
Would most of you say that rapid rating correlates to blitz rating?
#6 Rapid time controls are a lot slower than blitz ones, so there's less reliance on flagging in rapid. From my observation, most players with a high blitz rating are good at rapid too, but the reverse is not always true.
