whose stupid idea was the game creation and selection rating change

As I am able to change the rating selection the question stays. What is this about?

on my ipad I cannot change anything. just the +/- crap instead of being able to enter the rating. can someone show me how to change the source code on the ipad and avoid all this stupidity?

I think it's an excellent adjustment.

It stops people having to constantly adjust the slider this way and that.

I absolutely agree, its ridiculous, I like to play against opponents a few hundred ratings higher because it makes me plat better and I actually win more often against higher rated opponents, there was no reason to change the rating selector in game creation

@LarsenB Wow, I even checked source code on github to check the exact nature of changes, but I didn't make me think of something so simple! I hope you don't mind if I spread your idea to other users in the section "Lichess Feedback".

To number 10 I would be very careful about doing that as using this method of getting around the rating change could be considered "Abusing their infrastructure" as mentioned in the terms of service.

I'm not a good player anyway so I don't mind playing people at my range. Getting destroyed by Stockfish every day is enough as it is so I'm okay with it although I admit I'm trying to find reasons to justify the changes to keep me from feeling tricked by the rule changes.
