ie: lets say an opponent promotes a pawn into a queen, and i capture that promoted queen, it gets added to my reserve as a pawn not a queen. why is that?
Ideas: 1. Total material balance should not change. 2. Promotion should be an advantage. 3. Similar games and variants (Shogi, Bughouse) have similar rules.
