The player did know of the backrank and sacreficed
I should have took the rook on b6 and it would have been winning. :(
It's never too late to go wrong, but you can train yourself to be more alert and to be aware of your opponents threats even in completely winning positions.
I think it was Mark Dvoretsky or Artur Jussupow who said: "You can relax after the game."
