Play slow chess and enjoy the beauty of position. Too much tactics/ fast chess is a mess.

I saw a stat recently from 2019 in which lichess claimed 20,000,000 games per month. At any moment if you look at games in progress you'll see ~27,000 so the math works.
Slow chess online is tricky because of cheating.
Most of the top players stick to 1+0 bullet online because of cheating.
There is some cheating at all time controls, but at fast time controls it is harder to do and easier to detect.
Slow chess over the board is questionable as indeed the last two classical world championships were decided by rapid tiebreakers.
Playing two more classical games in case of a tie or one golden game will only lead to more draws, as neither player will risk losing.
Maybe the future of the game is rapid.
Carlsen said something like that in an interview.

If it would be up to me to organize the championship in classical chess, I'd do it like this:
If there's a tie after 12 rounds, there's a golden armagedon game.
In this game, the champion plays with black, the challenger gets the white pieces. The challenger has to win, in case of a draw the champion remains the champion.

Would this be fair? Yes, I think so. The logic is simple: If you want to be the new champion, you have to be able to beat the sitting champion. Vice versa, if you want to remain champion, you have to be able to defend yourself. Boxing logic, if you will.

I am sympathetic to this, but I fear it favors the sitting World Champion. Drawing with black is far easier than trying to win with white. So the world champion can play for 12 draws and then play for the 13th draw as well.
We saw that in the first Karpov - Kasparov match: Kasparov played for a win like he was used to, but doing so he lost game after game. Then on advice of Botvinnik he started playing for draws and he succeeded.

True. But on the other hand, the challenger would get the white pieces 7 times overall, the champion only 6 times. If the challenger can't make use of that clear advantage, it would be only fair that the champion remains the champion.
Majority of Top players will play 3 mins or less. Once OP become a top player, you will likely do the same and you will understand why!
#25 Playing white is no longer considered a clear advantage. In the last Classical World Championship it was rather black who came closer to winning.
This is the most hypocritical topic in the world. All GMs “play long games”. Also all GMs “plays nothing but 1-0”.
