Shogi, London Mindsports Centre, 25-26 November 2023

Please can you circulate to your shogi and chess contacts that might be able to visit London this weekend.

Here is message from shogi organiser. There will be two Autumn shogi tournaments on the weekend of 25-26 November 2023, held at the London Mindsports Centre. The nearest tube station is Ravenscourt Park. The two Hammersmith stations are a bit further away. It's best to check which lines are running with Transport for London. The organsier doesn't have as many modern clocks as he would like. So if anyone from does decide to come it would be handy if they could let the organiser know via discord .

Chess players can learn shogi via lishogi.org! lishogi has great learning resources. People will pick it up fast. You can also change the pieces on lishogi to appear more Western. People will be on hand at the tournament to share tips.

Did you know Karolina Fortin became the first female, non-Japanese professional women's shogi player in February of 2017. Also Natasha Regan a maths grad from Cambridge runs an online weekly session?
