What is the right thing to do: Declare win or remis after opponent leaves game

Hello community,

Once in a while I start playing blitz games agains opponents who leave the board after only 2-3 moves. I then get to wait for X seconds and then have the choice to declare 1) a win or 2) remis.
Seriously speaking I don't think it's right to collect points for a win because 2 moves don't prove I was the better player. However declaring remis will cost me -1 which is also something I don't like.

So what is the right thing to do? I'd appreciate serious, non-ironical answers on this one. Thank you!
take the win. You aren’t necessarily the better player but your the better person for actually want to play the game.
claim victory. your opponent left the game. that's their problem. they obviously don't want to play with you and they should lose rating for it
only time I would call a draw is if it's clear there's a connection issue vs. them just leaving the game. sometimes that happens to me when I play while taking the train to/from home.
Depends, if u want the points, like it's a VERY VERY important tournament, then claim the win. If ur a good person and ur playing casually claim a draw.
I'll usually wait to see if they come back and want to continue, but it's a loss on time, same as spending too long per move. Take the points.

If you think they left on purpose, you can also report them for throwing games.
It's a win obviously. Claim the win whenever possible.
First, wait till their time is half of what you've left while the option to choose between win/draw is already on the screen (give them the chance to reconnect and continue the battle). Then:

if it's the opening - draw
if it's the midgame - draw
if it's the endgame and you have a decisive advantage - win, otherwise draw
Claim victory so your rating will rise, that way you can play stronger players.
I won't share the game here because my opponent lost network strength and I don't want any public shaming, but it was in bullet when I was down a bishop and I had all the choices to decide the result.
Despite the game being rated, I chose to resign because my opponent was winning anyway.

In all seriousness, if your opponent intentionally leaves in 2-3 moves, claim the win. They get an automatic warning and eventually playbanned if they continue this behavior.
It may not be that you were the better player, but your opponent didn't behave. Ragequitting is disrespectful, and your opponent deserves a loss for being disrespectful.
