premoves erase the point of the clock and clock management

@ScorpianFire7

if you cant make all your moves in 1/4+0 then use a longer time control

with that short a time both sides would need premoves which totally changes the game from chess to something else that includes a lot of guessing and other non chess motifs

7 minutes is perfect for a normal casual game
5 minutes works if you are young and think fast
3 minutes might work if your reflexes are good but the chess will be bad
10 minutes is like a slow tournament game
and more than 10 is like postal chess

the slowest tournament actually use 25+5. besides, if you don't like premoves, you can just turn it off. you don't have the right to FORCE us into banning premoves.

There is no logical proof here of the need to remove premoves.

Internet chess and over the board chess are different ways to play the same game, so need different rules to administer that. In over the board chess you can't pick up a piece before your opponent moves, but you can do that in internet chess.

There is nothing to say that the rules have to be the same everywhere.

Premoves do not take away from the game; Because internet chess allows for much faster games, premoves are a way of extending the skill required to play shorter games, as they require you to anticipate your opponent's move and let you play many moves in a short period of time. Playing many moves in a short period of time is usually harder than playing fewer moves in a short period of time.

They do not take less skill to play. So much so that on longer time controls, people do not use pre-moves until the latter stages of the game when they have no time left.

There is no need for internet chess and OTB chess to be played symmetrically because the platform is not the same. People don't play other sports in the same way in different formats.

Oldegeezer is just stating his preference for no premoves, but not proving anything here. He just doesn't like them and that's okay. Just play longer games.

Also, playing blitz and bullet help train your mind. I helps you to get used to playing time pressure so that you know what it feels like and know what to do.

you turn off premoves by going to your profile, click "edit profile", then go to "game behavior", and then you will see "premoves" and just click no.
If you don’t like premoves, don’t use them. Nobody’s telling you that you have to use it.

But you don’t have to force other people to not use them. It’s their choice.
