yearly classical has been rigged?

I won't talk about individual users who get marked as cheaters or sand baggers or how we do it. Both because it would violate our rules on public shaming and because it would advertise our cheat detection methods.

I will however answer questions about how lichess works:

- Tournament results CAN be changed afterwards if a sandbagger or cheater is found.

- It is true that cheaters are more likely to be caught when they play against streamers because we are more likely to notice. I don't understand what we are supposed to do about this. Should we NOT mark the cheaters when we catch them to make it fair for non-streamers?

- It is true that players getting banned during a tournament could affect certain players more than others. This is absolutely necessary. Sandbaggers are often trying to help one player win a tournament. Sometimes players alternate between cheating and sandbagging. The cleanest solution is to just remove their games from the final score.
Thanks again to a Lichess moderator. The explanation is straight forward. Professional.
This should end the "senseless accusations of rigging events." There are established guidelines that are followed, be it on-line or OTB events by responsible arbiters who make their best decisions based on common sense and fairness.

"They also try to blacklist other players in the chat, a game with Lance5500 and farmville was
also discussed when Lance5500 resigned with a 0.4 advantage - it's all good to me that they investigate
games, but they are not impartial and that is an important factor imo."

Please look at the final position and you will see why have I resigned (doubleshot (11.Qxf7 and 11.cb), doublethreat after 10...Qe7+ 11.Kd1 (12.Re1 and 12.cb)).

In some cases it is better to see the actual position than digits from computer.

Hi Lance, thanks for contributing to the thread!
For sure I was not saying that I agreed with them or anything, I saw many of your games and others, I was just saying what I noticed in the chat on penguin's twitch page - what I was trying to explain is that the followers of the known player often tend to talk and review the opponent's games and therefore I think there is a higher chance that a cheater is reported for those games, basically I mean to say is that you cannot determine if you detected all cheaters in a tournament and the ones that are detected have a higher chance to come from the opponent's game of the known player with many followers - and that's the reason why I doubt the removal of the games is fair, that and the other points I mentioned.
I think in that position you must play Qf6 and if cxb7 then Qxf3. I know it is not relevant to the topic though :)
@mdinnerspace: really, can you stop? I understand you love Lichess and although I love it a lot too, you probably will love it more, I cannot win that fight, you win!
But as you can see by NoJoke's reply, the issues I address are real, not that NoJoke's post was made to convince you, it did help me and the thread to get some clarity -

I do appreciate your support and loyalty to the lichess people, but they already know this from all your other posts in other threads i am sure...
In the game post#43 White was much better. Any other time maybe Black plays on, reasonable options to defend are available, but in the tournament format, once a game is finished, another starts. This fact I suspect also played a role in the resignation. Not particularly a fan of the format, but it is what it is. You'll see some early resignations as players want to gain points by moving on to the next game.
