Which tournament would you play?

9 games of players at least your level and up to 700 points higher or 13 games where you are at the top 20% in rating, and likely only play at most 50% of your games against people with similar/more strength? (If you were trying to improve chess).

I personally would play the one with 9 games as I am guaranteed all games at my or higher level. Helps improvement (or so I have heard!).

I would play Hourly KOTH, Weekly KOTH, Monthly KOTH and Yearly KOTH

Yeah, I agree with both. Play as many games as you can.

I STILL remember The 1984 National Open in Las Vegas USA where I gained 140 rating points & the Class C Prize to BOOT ! In 1988 I became an NM ,,, Yes play many tournaments as you will do well soon as long as you are Playing Studying Studying Playing
