Help with the Greek gift.

So, I played a classical game earlier today and attempted what I think was my first Greek gift. As you can see I did not play it correctly but managed to scrape a win anyway. I was wondering if anyone familiar with this tactical idea could give me some advice to play it better next time. I've established I should have got my king rook to e1 earlier, but what else could I have done better. I'd be grateful for anyones input. Thank you for your time!

13 Re1 was the most accurate. In the Greek gift it is often the rook that decides. With 13 Nh7+ you gave him an escape.
Yeah, I got it into my head that Re1 was too slow. Even if it did look slow it's still a hell of a lot better than moving a well placed piece when I could get more pieces involved instead. Thanks for your thoughts @tpr
22. Rae1. You could have played Rg3 earlier perhaps prepare in move 11. It is a common idea. You can retreat the knight back to h3 in move 11 as well.
when the king goes to g6, you follow up with Qg4 instead of 11.Qd3 and after
11.Qg4 f5 12.Qg3, black will get mated or lose his queen: the discovered check when you move the knight will win: you don't need the rook.

I believe Ben Finegold made a video about the Greek Gift. Vudovic has written a chapter about it in his book The art of attack in chess, and so have many others.

Nh3 is an interesting idea. The e5 pawn still interferes with the kings escape. I'll keep that in mind, thanks! @Bishop_f3

That is a good idea Qg4. I don't really have a compelling reason to explain why I didn't even consider it. Benefit of hindsight eh? For some reason I had it in mind that opening up the position with the e pawn would be a good idea. All it did in reality was just help my opponents king to find more squares to escape by. I'l see if I can locate that Finegold video you mentioned. Thanks for the input! @Duzzz
