It would be nice if on the fide ratings page, the players could connect their Lichess profile with their fide profile. Of course, this would be a free choice, it would just help to identify players more easily

Thats good point.
Probably in the same way as titled players who want their title shown prove they are who they claim. But the administrative workload might be a problem if too many people were intererested, I'm afraid.
