You can play the engine at around 2500 in strength to get a feeling for how strong they are.
2500 blitz? They are really strong, believe me :D They are also very few...and usually not interested in playing us. It's not very interesting to play against players so much weaker than us, you probably don't enjoy playing 1500's players too.
Just play a tournament, win against everybody and soon you get paired with 2500+ players.
