Bobby Fischer- The GOAT...

ANyone else addicted to bobby fischer? 72.1 %

THe Great thing about bobby was that he was all about winning, and was he annoyed at the 72.1 % winning score?

My Guess is No. He proved that you can become a world champion at anything if you just put your mind at it, and indeed he was the Greatest. I often feel scared when making a move that resembles a fischer game....but ofc you snicker it away and shed a tear in bed thinking about fischer's life, what a tragedy, he was a man child that never grew up ! What could have been?

He never knew his father, so didnt I. And that hurts! my heart goes out to all those who never knew their father <3
@chessclinic it's not because Fischer was number one on his own and most chess champions (especially Carlsen, the one you rejected) didn't that makes him the goat. We're talking about chess level, not how they reach that level.
I couldn't agree less with you Kalfch. It is precisely how they got to that level and whether they did it on their own or with the aid of others that makes one player the greatest.
But I guess we all have an opinion on that.
Fischer would be destroyed by Carlsen like France in 1870/71. Execution style. no chance at all for Bobby
Well I have beaten carlsen many times in Fischer Random! What do you think about that? Eh?
A little boy with a mother that was never home in the Bronx finds a chess book. Sitting in the dark the child reads the chess book and teaches himself chess. Then that boy singlehandedly takes the USSR school of chess down (which had at the time 5 living world champions) pretty much by himself, with next to no help. And to be be blunt he not just won but completely obliterated them.

I am going with GOAT here myself.
I loved Fischer’s play. It’s always a prefect blend of moves. Attacking, positional, tactics. Also amazing is that he basically taught himself. That’s what’s amazing to me.
Definitely one of the all-time greats and one of the most fascinating. He brought myth and legend back into the game in modern times.
