Please add an option to display all captured pieces

I know there is a material difference option in display settings but I don't care to know that I'm up +3 or whatever. In tabletop chess you can see the captured pieces next to the board. Why can't I see icons showing captured pieces next to the board on lichess?

It's a lot easier (for me, at least) to look to the side and see that I have captured a knight and a rook, and my opponent captured a knight and a bishop, and that gives me more information than I'm +2.

Yes I could just count all the pieces on the board. But that's not always the best thing to be doing when I'm playing blitz or bullet. Plus consider my original point - this is something that has always been part of tabletop chess. Captured pieces go next to the board. Why aren't they there on lichess???
Not looking at the pieces beside the board but look at what's on the board is one of the first things one get taught when visiting a chess club.

It seems you are mainly interested in the difference between the captures - for example a knight vs a bishop. Or an extra pawn. Note that lichess does not only show number values like +1, but also shows the pieces that are different.

This is covering the probably most interesting aspect of it, and when it comes to the endgame, comparing long lists is rather tedious.

But really, from a chess improving point of view: focus on what's left on the board. And this is especially true for OTB, where players might hold a captured piece in their hand, or you might see pieces from the neighbouring boards.
Captured pieces _are_ shown. The view is just simplified by omitting pieces captured by both sides. For seeing the difference in material, this form is in fact more convenient, especially when many pieces were already captured by both sides.
On the latest app on my mobile, you see all the captures. I prefer it.

This feature should be on the browser version too!
