Suggestion to ban the ultrabullet

Cos it's... fun?
I don't agree with the fact it should be banned, since it's good to let off a bit of steam every now and again
I mean that it's fun to just play a bit of extreme speed chess from time to time.
Yes, I know that normal chess is obviously fun, and I enjoy that as well, but I don't see why you'd want to remove ultra.
@TigerLilov

I understand your concerns, but, with all due respect, I don't believe it's rational of you to suggest banning the ultra-bullet format as a considerable number of players take pleasure in it.

Supposing Lichess gets rid of ultra-bullet just because Mr TigerLilov said so, I'm sure it'll put a smile on your face. But, what about the people who just want to have fun playing it?

I understand you're concerned about the negative impact it may have on one's chess, but as a matter of fact, this doesn't apply to each & every chess player as there's people out there who are unaffected by it. The element of self-control plays a vital role towards the orientation of one's mindset regarding chess as a whole. Hence, the ultra-bullet format isn't so much of a problem in general.
You should bear in mind that people do engage in this just for the fun of it.

Cheers.

I would also have the same opinion as just today I got addicted to ultra bullet and as am a serious OTB player its bad for my chess health. I had to force myself to stop playing ultrabullet
He still plays ultrabullet every day...

It sounds like advising others not to drink wine, but indulging in the finest bottles for yourself. *facepalm*

Wait what I didnt notice this
People do ultrabullet because it's a fun sport, you shouldn't ban it just because "YOU" don't like it. Even if people want to ban ultrabullet, the staff for lichess decide it, not you.

As others already pointed out, he in fact played - and still plays - more ultrabullet games than all other categories together. So perhaps the problem rather is that he _does_ like it but feels bad about it and does not believe he can resist the temptation as long as it's available. (I hope it was all meant as a joke.)
I think it is way too fast a time control to play chess. But, if people want to play at that time control, then they should be allowed to play at that time control.
