A 1700 player doesn't know this trap

It's by no means a "trap". he just didn't play the best move. If he had played the 5. ... Nxd5 or Na5 (which are both natural moves) he would have been completely fine.
OP: A 1700 doesnt know this trap hbahahha
Me who sees OP is 1524: https://imgur.com/JJshEtc
Im 2200 and dont know this trap, mostly because i dont play this opening.
6.c3 and white is doing great. Traps suck if your opponent doesnt fall into them.
There you see that rating is not a diploma which to achieve you'd need to show certain competence in all possible areas of chess, including some rarely played, practically irrelevant opening traps. Rating is just a reflection of how well you have succeeded in your previous games. It gives you no duties to perform at certain level.
Btw I'm 2000 and I hadn't heard of this "trap" either.
nice trap, Nd4 is a very good practical choice because almost everyone seems to play Na5 so white players usually know it quite well, but with Nd4 you have very good chances that they will make a mistake since it's quite tricky and not so known.
