CANDIDATES!

What pepsi said. Generally 2000+ but some are severely underrated and could just as easily be 2100-2200 but have a 19xx rating.
@FalconPower Eh. I somewhat get your point but it doesnt rlly matter. bookerd and flo are 2 players who didn't even know they had to write "I am in"attempting to join and now they aren't in because of it. Bookerd can't even write in the forums, why not give him a second chance? Bookerd is really strong I would be fine with giving bookerd, flo a wildcard.
guys if we decide on wildcards, we re not gonna vote for people. its all up to lone wolf, if we give him that chance.

i was indifferent about this situation before, however as everybody can see, there are a lot of strong players who didn't participated to this tourn. I can even recommend to prepare one more strong tourn and invite the winners to the candidates. if its WC, we must reach those guys.

best,
If they agree, not a bad idea SupWitches. You're right, a lot of good players are left out. Do they want to compete and take part in this though? I guess we could ask and find out
My opinion is that the wild card should be a player who showed that he can hold 2300+ performance in a long run. Of course, the organizer should choose which player will get the wild card.
@PepsiNGaming
Bookerd is muted but he could create an alt for the forum or send PM to Wolf, so he was able to find the way if he really wanted to join.
And what about Flo? If he isn't in cause he wasn't active when the championship started, it can be an excuse but if he didn't understand the rules (in English), it was his problem cause he could use a translator and read about all details if he was really interested in this event.

I don't think the wildcard is fair cause this competition is really tough, but if this idea comes try, the only person who really deserves it is Dragon-Lord, a winner of FVWC. But I'm afraid he still can't use lichess.
the only one you think deserves it is Dragon? No. Joddle, Ngb, Townes, and Fins are a few who also deserve it imo they are basically the same strength as Dragon-Lord, Dragon isnt on another level than us. townes imo is stronger than dragon.

Bookerd imo is sort of shy, I know it's silly to say and he'd probably disagree but I think so. and idk about Flo
I mentioned Dragon cause he won a big tourney, and it's a great achievement. And it's my own choice which doesn't have to be accurate (don't start talking about lists, please). I wanted to write about Joddle too but I don't think it possible to contact with him anyway.

Bookerd isn't shy, and he created an alt when he asked on forum why he was muted.
I won a big tourney too, I don't understand?

Okay I'll stop now, but I assume bookerd is shy I guess I'm wrong :P
While there are many strong players who I wish were in the tournament (Flo, Fins, Townes, Dragon, NGB would all certainly be worthy of the candidates), I'm also not particularly in favor of granting automatic bids and I believe they should have also gone through the same tournament to qualify. If it is a case of people missing registration and the-lone-wolf wants to grant a second chance, I would suggest that you could organize a one time, live, password-protected tournament of 2200+ players who missed out on the tournament and then the top 2 could qualify to bring the total number of candidates to 10. But I think they should still have to prove themselves somehow to make it fair, because as we have seen there can sometimes be upsets and surprises in qualifying.
