How to choose a move?

I' m relatively new to the game and i was wondering what kind of generic process you go through to decide witch move to make.
Sorry for my bad english.
Oh my... my process is like 50 steps... I still work on making it shorter... as I found out visualizing and calculating are the two most important things to play a good move
If you play bullet that would be a trick question, since you just move and pray.
I usually look for what just seems correct, like a move that gives a space advantage or something that just develops a piece (except when there are tactics or other possibilities on the board then I usually just calculate.)
I can see you are doing great with puzzles. I think you can be a good tactical player, so you don't need to learn anything about chess. Just play the same way as you solve puzzles and everything you will figure out automatically during the games. Also you can watch games of players 100-200 points higher than you.
@pointlesswindows the thing with the puzzle is that you know something is there you only need to search. + you have all the time in the world. In the puzzle i try to see the most important thing in the position and usually the solution is there. but in a game i found difficulties finding the topic of the position
@Bad_Reputation respect for having such a high tactics rating! What you need now is learning about strategies and positioning. Watch videos about it. If you master the art of positioning you will become a great chess player!
